It can be difficult in Canada to know what to enter for your routing code and account number. Please read the information below to make sure you enter it correctly.
Routing Code
The routing code is always the financial institution number plus the transit number, but you must add a zero at the beginning to make a total of 9 digits.
Add a zero at the beginning + Financial Institute Number (3 numbers) + Transit or Branch Number (5 digits)
Routing Code = Zero + Financial Institute Number + Transit or Branch Number (9 digits total)
Account Number
Always enter the entire number shown on the check that comes after the financial Institute number.
